“Our new home away from home!”

My husband stumbled on this hotel and we are so thankful he did. We plan on spending a lot of time in Thibodaux now that our daughter will be in college there. The rooms are affordable, clean, neat and spacious. Great pool. Great FREE HOT breakfast! The personnel truly went out of there way to make us feel welcome. Anthony gave us lots of local information to help us not only with our stay but took a couple of moments to give us suggestions for our college daughter. I also thought it was great that he remembered us when we called and booked a room again this weekend! The entire staff was this personal.

We even met the managing partner, Greg . He was around introducing himself and asking how our stay was and he took the time to give us the history of the hotel, which by the way was interesting. So to recap: if you are coming to this area this is where you should stay! Roger & Cindy

“A Real Pleasure”

Room was very clean and updated nicely. Personnel are very friendly and helpful. Pool was very clean and clear. Breakfast was good. The location with being right in town was perfect. We’ve stayed at this hotel under different owners for many years and were so sorry several yrs ago when it was no longer an inviting place to stay. We took our chances when we heard it was under new owners and management and what a pleasant surprise. Price was very good and we will return.

“Bayou Vacation”

This was our first vacation in Louisiana. We have driven through before, but never stayed. We have been to every state, and dozens of counties, and have taken 9 cruises. We really wanted to get a feel for Louisiana, so after planning a few days in the French Quarter of New Orleans, we wanted to spend a few more in a nice small city in bayou country. I am pretty experienced as acting as our travel agent, so I was pretty confident in my choice of Thibodaux and Carmel Inn and Suites to be our home base. We were not disappointed. In 25 years of marriage, we have probably stayed in close to 1000 properties in our extensive travels. Just a fraction of them are ones we will never forget. Carmel Inn is not a cookie cutter property, and is now one of them. The property itself is pretty much the typical 2 to 3 star rated one as far as the rooms, cleanliness and amenities go. But it also had historical aspects to it, and was both part of the surrounding neighborhood, and felt like part of the Louisiana bayou country. Just a real nice place to spend three nights. We took day trips within a couple of hours, but also visited local museums. It was a great balance to our stay at the Omni French Quarter in New Orleans. This is also the first time I have ever felt like writing a review. If we are in the area again, no doubt we will stay at the Carmel. We will also recommend it to anybody. Also, thanks for the suppers, in addition to breakfast. Not something you get at many places charging less than $100 per night.

“Wonderful place to stay”

We have stayed here several times. The most recent in July of this year. It is an extremely clean and friendly place to stay.

They serve a wonderful Southern breakfast. The server has been with them for 38 years and we enjoy seeing and visiting her each time we stay there. They also serve dinner Monday through Thursday. The food is also wonderful and changes daily. The server for dinner is very good as well.

The pool is beautiful. Their lotion and soap are fantastic.

This is a family owned business. We can’t say enough good about them. We look forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: We never had a bad room there. They have some rooms for dogs (sometimes we traveled with our dog). T…

“Top pick while in Thibodaux for Manning Passing Academy”

This was our 4th year at the Manning Passing Academy Camp and 2nd year staying at the Carmel Inn. We were impressed last year with location, cleanliness, affordability and extras that we booked again. This year the service was over the top. Greg and Rhonda are some of the nicest folks you will meet and we felt that “red carpet” treatment from the time we checked in. Greg was very helpful with recommending places to go, things to do and see while we were in town. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the complimentary meals are fabulous. Great touch with fresh baked cookies in the lobby too! Walking distance to restaurants and a very short drive to Nichols State University. Big thumbs up for this hotel! Our top pick while in Thibodaux.

“Spotless!”

In Thibodaux for the weekend, and picked the Carmel Inn to stay at. Greg and Rhonda and the entire staff treated us with much warmth and attention. We had great breakfast both mornings we were there. Super clean and quiet room. We followed recommendations and had two great meals within walking distance at Bubba”s II PoBoys Restaurant. We also took the recommended tour of the Donner-Peltier Distillery, and recommend it. I seldom give five star ratings, but this one earned it!

Room Tip: We got a jacuzzi suite, so were able to entertain friends after dinner.

“Great Hotel”

We are in town for Manning Passing Academy so we book in October. When we arrived in July to check in, the lobby computer was down. I was getting frustrated so Greg, the owner, personally walked me to my upgraded room and let me in….he said I could come back later to check in. The hotel is dated but the service is impeccable! The complimentary breakfast and lunch is delicious, not to mention the complimentary organic toiletries. Don’t miss this great place!

“This is the place to stay!!!”

Stayed here 5yrs ago, staying here now as I write this review. We book here for The Manning
Passing Academy. I book in October to be sure I get a room here. You will not find nicer people any where than right here. Clean rooms, friendly and nice can’t beat that combo. Try this place out you won’t have any regrets.

Room Tip: I’ve had 5 different rooms and liked them all.

“Driver”

Nice place to stay, room was clean, sheets were soft. Definitely stay again if I’m in the area. I usually stay at the higher end hotels but the Carmel was as I said earlier a nice place. The breakfast was tasty as well had a home cooked taste that went well with my coffee.
